The Penines, old Guzzi inspections and York

I had an inspection job to for a mate, north of Leeds, an old V7 Moto Guzzi, so it was to the back roads again up the Derwent valley to Yorkshire.

There are limited places to pull over on these back roads, so this tends to drive where I stopped 🙂

The main question about the V7 was if the paint was original, I think it is, decide for yourselves.

This is the river Ouse, another name well known to Tasmanians.

The national Railway museum.

They revere Mr Stephenson here, not surprising really.

And this one of the reasons why they do so.

Al the features af a modern steam locomotive is present in the Rocket.

Old skills preserved.

They have some work ahead of them.

The pleasure in the marriage of steel and brass is not something everybody gets.

Superheat tubes and a plumbers nightmare.

then it was back across the Ouse to the York museum.
